From a small group in Chennai to a growing fellowship.
Greetings to all of you in the name of our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ. We are the Scripture Study Fellowship from Chennai. We conduct Bible study classes to help you compare spiritual things with spiritual (1 Corinthians 2:13). Generally, we all carry contradictions or mysterious questions in the Bible. How do we deal with them? With human knowledge? With someone's doctrine or teachings?
The Scripture is very clear: "Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them" (Isaiah 34:16). The answers are in the Book. We simply sit under it together.
On what purpose, on what reason, is Bible study so important for us as Christians today? Above all, the only purpose is to know and spread the divine truth — what we have received from God the Almighty through our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Today is the day for Good News — "this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace" (2 Kings 7:9). Our intent is simple: to know, and let others know. Why did God create a man? What is His purpose? What is His kingdom? What is His plan? (John 17:3, to know Him, is eternal life.)
One thing we would really like you to know, dear brothers and sisters — this Bible Study is not on compulsion or grudgingly (2 Cor 9:7). We received it from our God through our Saviour Jesus Christ freely, by grace and love. As Matthew 10:8 says: "freely ye have received, freely give." God's grace, mercy and love be with you all through our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
